We discovered this more than 25 years ago when we met at an association dinner meeting.  By chance we sat next to each other and struck up a conversation.  At the time, we were each running our own consulting firms.  Before long, we closed down our individual businesses and founded DillonMarcus.  

What We Believe

THE SENIOR EXECUTIVE TEAM HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO THE ORGANIZATION - A COLLECTIVE JOB DESCRIPTION TO INFLUENCE THE ORGANIZATION IN POSITIVE WAYS.  

When the Executive Team understands what their collective job description is, they are better able to maximize their influence.  


PEOPLE WANT TO FIND MEANING AND PURPOSE IN THEIR WORK.  

Leadership's job is to help people see the meaning and purpose of their work.  


LOVE IS THE COMPETITIVE EDGE YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR.  

Love your team members first and they will love your customers.  


THE GENIUS IS IN THE ROOM.  

People are smart.  The role of leadership is to encourage and provide opportunities that foster the flow of intellectual capital throughout the organization.  

 

WE FUNCTION AT OUR HIGHEST LEVEL WHEN WE FEEL EMOTIONALLY SAFE.  

Leadership's role is create a fertile environment where it is truly safe for people to try new things and play "full-out".  Innovation, safety, cost savings all improve when it's emotionally safe. 


 PEOPLE SUPPORT WHAT THEY HELP TO CREATE. 

Without understanding how to effectively crowd-source ideas and build a groundswell of support around change, initiatives are likely to fail.  


STRUGGLE IS OVER-CELEBRATED

Work doesn't have to be hard.  We prefer ease.  


WORLD-CLASS LEADERSHIP TEAMS DON'T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT.  THEY MUST PRACTICE LIKE ANY HIGH PERFORMNG TEAM. 

The practice-to-game-time ratio for Executive Teams is practically zero.  Executive Teams need to dedicate "off-the-court" time to practicing and improving their performance.
